About Sylvia

I’ve worked in the wellness industry since 2007 and bring a blend of yoga, strength training, and Ayurveda to support active women over 40. Before founding Yoga Shasanam, I opened and ran Ananda Health and Wellness Center for nearly a decade before successfully selling the business.

I’m a 500‑hour certified yoga teacher, certified personal trainer (NSCA), Precision Nutrition coach (PN1), and an Ayurvedic practitioner trained through the Ayurvedic Institute (Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, 775 hours) and the California College of Ayurveda (Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, 2,282 hours).

My work is influenced by ongoing mentorship with Dr. Mary‑Alice Quinn and studies with respected teachers including Bernie Clark (Yin Yoga), Leslie Kaminoff (yoga anatomy), D’ana Baptiste, Charlotte Bell, Scott Moore, Richard Miller (iRest), Bhavani Maki (Yoga Sutras), Rolf Sovik (Yoga Nidra), and others. I’ve also completed training in safe alignment, trauma‑informed yoga and psychology of change. All of this informs a practical, accessible approach that integrates yoga, recovery, and Ayurveda into real‑world fitness settings.
